Do you have a real Christmas tree but aren’t sure what to do with it? From now until Sunday, January 20, 2013 you can recycle it for free by taking it to one of the 11 Let’s Chip In depots.
Please remove all tinsel, decorations, plastic bags, and tree stands. Residents are welcome to help themselves to free wood chips, which will be available at all depots in early January (while quantities last). Remember to bring a container.
Trees placed beside recycling or garbage carts will not be collected.
Keeping Christmas trees out of our landfill means that the trees will continue to be a valuable resource. Winnipeg residents recycled 15,000 trees last season.
