New signed at Polo North has slated the grand opening for Winnipeg’s first Marshalls location to be on Thursday, April 4, 2013. Polo North will be an extension of Polo Park Shopping Centre located at the old Winnipeg Arena site. Construction is currently in progress.
Marshalls is a chain of American department stores owned by TJX Companies. Marshalls has over 750 conventional stores, as well as larger stores named Marshalls Mega Store, covering 42 states and Puerto Rico. Marshalls expanded into Canada in March 2011. Marshalls is the U.S.’s second largest off-price family apparel and home fashion retailer, behind its sister company, T.J. Maxx.
