The evolution of screening technology means that you may soon be able to take some liquids on Canadian flights starting January.

Banning of all liquids from carry-on bags was always a temporary measure and was put in place after a failed 2006 attempt to blow up a flight using liquid explosives disguised as a beverage. Since then, technology can now screen liquid items to see if it poses a threat.

Security will screen any liquids over 100 millilitres. If for any reason the liquid can’t be cleared, it will be confiscated.

Cheers to no longer having to buy that $5 bottle of water at Airport shops! [GLOBAL WINNIPEG]
