City of Winnipeg crews have begun repairing potholes. Three hand-patching crews are working on higher speed regional streets such as Bishop Grandin Boulevard, and local streets where potholes may become a safety issue.
In frigid temperatures, crews must use a cold mix material to patch potholes by hand. Once temperatures rise to near zero degrees Celsius, patching efforts will increase by using pothole patching machines (Road Patchers) and hand-asphalting crews.
Citizens are encouraged to report pothole locations by contacting 311, using the 311 app, or by email at 311@winnipeg.ca.
The City would like to remind motorists and pedestrians to use caution around crews and heavy equipment operating throughout the city over the coming weeks.
