Former Winnipeg Blue Bombers starting quarterback Buck Pierce has retired. Pierce played for the Bombers from 2010 – 2013 and was traded to the B.C. Lions in September last season. He still makes Winnipeg his home.
Pierce guided the Blue Bombers to a Grey Cup appearance in 2011 but has been riddled with various injuries since then. Pierce finishes his CFL career with a passing completion of 64.2 per cent (1,200-of-1,869), 15,289 passing yards and 76 touchdowns (63 interceptions) in 130 games.
Above is Buck Pierce’s emotional goodbye to Winnipeg following the news of his trade to the BC Lions.
Thank you for the memories Mr. Pierce. The Blue Bombers kick off their 2014 season on Thursday, June 26, 2014 against Toronto.
