The Province of Manitoba has added new solar-powered cameras to various locations along provincial highways to provide Manitobans real-time photos and information on road conditions.
Drivers can now check the Road and Traveller Information website and view constantly updated photos of road conditions. This will give Manitobans an outlook at what they are about to drive into.
There are five existing solar-powered cameras on the Trans-Canada Highway and PTH 75. Seven additional sites will provide road and weather information on the Trans-Canada Highway, PTH 5, PTH 16 and at two sites each on PTH 6 and PTH 10.
Once at the Road and Traveller Information website, look for a Camera Icon to show camera images. Current weather and forecasts, and wait times at the Emerson-Pembina U.S. border crossing is also available on the site.
If you’re not near a computer, you can always get the latest information on road conditions by calling 511. [ROADINFO]
