Vi-Ann Restaurant, which was previously located on Osborne Village, has found a new home on Notre Dame Ave and is now open for business.
The very popular Vietnamese/Chinese/Thai restaurant was forced to close its Osborne Village location in 2012 as part of Shoppers Drug Mart’s multimillion-dollar expansion. Neighbouring business Movie Village was also lost to the expansion.
The final day for Vi-Ann Restaurant was July 1, 2012. The Canada Day rush saw more than 200 people came to eat their last Vi-Ann meal. By 12:30am, they had to turn people away because the restaurant had run out of food.
2 years later, they are ready to serve dishes again at 1020 Notre Dame Ave, a former CIBC bank. The new building will seat 55 people, which is just 5 seats smaller from the Osborne location. Faithful customers will be able to enjoy their favourites, as well as many new dishes on the menu.
See you all there! As a grand-opening special, Vi-Ann’s is offering a 10% discount for a limited time. [WINNIPEG FREE PRESS]
