In preparation for winter, the City’s fall clean-up of streets will begin Sunday evening, October 26, 2014, weather permitting and will target areas of Winnipeg where the accumulation of leaves is particularly heavy.
It’s expected to take approximately two weeks to complete. City crews will be removing debris and leaves that collect on the street during the fall season.
Temporary “No Parking” signs will be placed in advance where parked cars could get in the way of cleanup operation. Motorists will have to find alternate parking during the posted times to avoid being ticketed or towed.
Winnipeggers in general are reminded to use caution around cleanup crews and heavy equipment which will be operating throughout the city over the coming weeks.
Citizens are cautioned not to rake yard waste material or other debris onto streets or to place yard waste material into manholes or ditches. This can plug drains which increases the risk of basement flooding and contravenes one or more City By-Laws.
