From Saturday, November 8 to Friday, November 14, the Assiniboine Park Zoo will be offering free admission to all veterans and military personnel.
“It’s important to remember and recognize those who have made personal sacrifices to serve their country at home and abroad in times of conflict and on peacekeeping missions,” said Dr. Brian Joseph, Director of Zoological Operations at the Assiniboine Park Zoo. “Having served as an Army reserve veterinarian, I’ve seen that sacrifice and dedication firsthand.”
During Remembrance Week at the Zoo, visitors will also be able to purchase a lapel poppy with proceeds going to the Charleswood branch of the Royal Canadian Legion.
The Zoo is open daily from 9:00am to 4:00pm and from 1:00pm to 4:00pm on Remembrance Day,
