The new-era Winnipeg Jets have completed their first blockbuster deal since their re-inception in 2011.
Evander Kane, Zach Bogosian, and unsigned goalie Jason Kasdorf was traded to the Buffalo Sabres in a a blockbuster eight-player deal.
The Winnipeg Jets received Tyler Myers, Drew Stafford, prospects Brendan Lemieux, Joel Armia and a first-round draft pick. The first-round pick will be the lowest of the three that Buffalo owns.
Evander Kane won’t suit up for the Sabres until the 2015/16 season after suffering a season-ending shoulder injury.
Kane was drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers in the 2009 draft. The Atlanta Thrashers was purchased by True North in 2011 where they were relocated and renamed to the Winnipeg Jets.
