Manitoba the Most Generous Province in Canada for Second Year in a Row

Manitoba is once again the most charitable province in Canada after a study of 2013 income tax filings.

A total of 25.3% of Manitobans claimed charitable donations on their taxes in 2013. Prince Edward Island takes second place with 24.1%. The national average in Canada is 22.4%.

In 2013, 228,090 Manitobans donated a grand total of $400,760 which is up 6% from 2012. The average Manitoban donated $390 to charities in 2013. The Canadian average was $280.

On a city-by-city breakdown, Winnipeg ranked second behind Ottawa.
