Unfortunately, Canada Day isn’t a long weekend this year but there will still be plenty to do throughout the city. Here’s some assistance planning out your activities. Winnipeg Transit
Winnipeg Transit will be operating on a Sunday schedule for Wednesday, July 1.
Special Canada Day service includes:
- A FREE Canada Day Shuttle service will operate from 12:00 p.m. noon until 12:00 a.m. midnight linking downtown, The Forks and Osborne Village.
- Extra Route 11 Portage buses will be operating between The Forks and Assiniboine Park from 12:00 p.m. noon until 11:00 p.m. Regular transit fares apply.
Post-fireworks departures:
- The Forks: buses will be available on Main Street between York and Graham.
- Assiniboine Park to downtown: buses will be available at eastbound Portage Avenue at Overdale Street.
- Assiniboine Park to St. James/Assiniboia areas: buses will be available at westbound Portage Avenue at Overdale Street.

Leisure Centres
All Leisure Centres are closed Wednesday, July 1. Regular hours of operation for Leisure Centres resume on Thursday, July 2.

The Animal Services Agency will be closed on Wednesday, July 1. Regular hours of operation for Animal Services resume on Thursday, July 2.
