Safeway has recalled carious store-packaged, cooked Chicken Wings across five provinces due to a toxin produced by Staphylococcus bacteria.
The provinces include Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, Saskatchewan.
Consumers are warned not to consume the recalled products described below. The recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased. If you’re not sure if your product is a recall, you can check with the Safeway you purchased it from.
Food contaminated with Staphylococcus toxin may not look or smell spoiled. The toxin produced by Staphylococcus bacteria is not easily destroyed at normal cooking temperatures. Common symptoms of Staphylococcus poisoning are nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramping and fever. In severe cases of illness, headache, muscle cramping and changes in blood pressure and pulse rate may occur.
