Pokemon GO, is an augmented reality game that puts Pokemon (pocket monsters) into the real world. A quick stroll through Assiniboine Park and you’ll see hundreds of players looking down at their phone.
It forces the player to walk around the city and search for hidden Pokemon. The game has been praised for getting kids out of the house and playing outside.
However, the game also comes with its controversies. The game also comes with various warnings to be ‘aware of your surroundings at all times’ since it requires you to stare at your phone while you walk. There’s a potential of children walking into traffic or tripping and falling.
Nintendo recommends that children playing should play in groups and to never wonder around alone.
