There’s nothing better than 2 days worth of BBQ competitions and blues!!! The Winnipeg BBQ and Blues Festival returns this weekend from August 19 – 20, 2016 at Smith Street in front of the Burton Cummings Theatre. The festival will feature the best in local, national and international blues performers along with the Pit Masters Championship, a Kansas City Barbecue Society sanctioned BBQ competition.
Headlining acts will play on the Burton Cummings Theatre stage both nights.

The “Pit Masters” barbeque competition will once again be part of the Festival. It will take place Friday and Saturday with a $10,000 cash purse – one of the largest in Canada. The two-day event is a Kansas City Barbecue Society sanctioned barbeque competition that is open to amateurs and professionals who will be competing for points and cash prizes. Teams will also compete for a shot at an invitation to the Jack Daniel’s World Championship Invitational Barbecue Competition (Lynchburg, Tennessee), the World Food Championships (Orange Beach, Alabama) and the American Royal Championships (Kansas City, Missouri).
Concert passes, which include both outdoor festival site access and reserved seating for headlining concerts at Burton Cummings Theatre are available for $129.00, $99.00 or $69.00 (2 day pass) or individual day concert passes start at $39.00. Admission to the Street Festival site only, including outdoor entertainment, BBQ competition, vendor food and beverage areas, is $20.00 per day. All prices plus fees.
