It’s that time of the year again! The City is asking Winnipeg homeowners with large spruce trees to contact them if they are interested in donating their tree for City Hall’s annual Christmas tree display.
To be considered your tree must meet the following criteria:
- be located in the front yard of a property with direct access to the tree
- be 12 to 15 metres tall
- be fully symmetrical with a single trunk and no brown needles
The Urban Forestry Branch staff will select the tree that best meets the identified criteria.
Tree donors will not receive compensation for the tree but City crews will remove the tree at no cost to the homeowner. They’ll also clean up debris and remove the stump to approximately two inches below ground level.
