An official opening date has been set for Canada’s first Jollibee location. The doors will open on Thursday, December 15, 2016.
Jollibee, a Filipino fast-food chain dubbed the McDonalds of the Philippines, will be located at 1406 St. James Street by McDonalds and Starbucks.
There are 662,605 Canadians with ethnic origins in the Philippines. Winnipeg has the third largest Filipino community in Canada by total population, and the largest by percentage (8.7%).
There are currently over 1,500 Jollibee restaurants worldwide. The Winnipeg location will be the first in Canada.
