Winnipeg’s first Water Park is now open! The Transcona Aquatic Park on 1101 Wabasha St. opened public on Friday, June 30. Mayor Brian Bowman, Mike Pagtakhan, Chair of the Standing Policy Committee on Protection, Community Services, and Parks, Russ Wyatt, City Councillor for Transcona were all there for the ribbon cutting ceremony.
“It’s great to announce the grand opening of the Transcona Aquatic Park,” said Mayor Brian Bowman. “Recreational spaces like this one are an important part of what keeps our community strong, healthy, and thriving. I’m excited to be able to be able to officially invite Transcona to come enjoy the pool.”
Water Park Hours:
- Season: June 30 – September 4
- Open daily from 1:00pm to 8:00pm
Aquatic Park Features:
- picnic tables and umbrellas available
- four water slides (height requirement 48 IN / 122 CM)
- zero grade entry (beach entry) with mini geysers and shallow water spray features
- 1-meter and 3-meter diving boards
- expanded spray pad
- shade sails and picnic areas
- new accessibility change rooms and lockers
- during inclement weather operations can proceed in to indoor pool area
