The City of Winnipeg has passed a ride sharing legislation that may pave the way for Uber to open up shop in Winnipeg.
The new bill dissolves the Manitoba Taxicab Board and instead gives authority to local municipalities. The municipalities can then develop their own by-laws to allow comapnies such as Uber. The law will go into effect March 1, 2018.
