The Public Utilities Board (PUB) has approved a 2.5% increase to Manitoba Hydro rates effective June 1, 2019.
Hydro originally requested a 3.5% increase, but that was shut down by the PUB. All revenue from the increase will go into a deferral account that will pay for capital projects currently under construction.
The increase does not apply to anyone who belongs to First Nations On-Reserve Residential or Diesel Zone customer classes.
