Where's Tim Horton's 2020 Roll Up The Rim to Win Game?

Usually around this time, we’d be announcing the return of the Tim Horton’s Roll Up The Rim to Win game and the various prizes available. But February is here, and the game is nowhere to be found.

It may have something to do with a poor 2019 performance. After more than three decades, it was announced that Tim Hortons would be revamping its iconic Roll Up the Rim to Win contest in 2020.

Jose Cil, the CEO of Tim Hortons parent company Restaurant Brands International Inc, revealed that sales were down 0.4% in Canada and 0.6% worldwide. Severe winter weather in Canada and a poor performing Roll Up the Rim campaign was to blame. Tim Hortons added over 7 million additional prizes in 2019 in hopes to increase sales, but it didn’t seem to work.

The CEO stated that the Roll Up The Rim game needs to take a “modern and fresh approach”… CBC reported that a team is working to reboot the program for 2020 and it will include a seamless digital integration. But it looks like the implementation of that is taking longer than expected. There has been no marketing for the 2020 Roll Up the Rim game but we can only hope we see one before the summer.
