Uber will finally hit Winnipeg streets in Spring 2020. The rideshare service announced that it will hit the roads as soons as it gets enough drivers lined up in Spring.
MPI will require Uber drivers to purchase additional insurance called Passenger Vehicle for Hire coverage. The coverage has various packages which cover drivers during four separate time periods: weekdays, rush hour, overnight, and weekends.
Ever since ridesharing legislation passed in 2017, six services have hit the road. Uber will be the seventh.
Drivers interested in working for Uber can sign up online. You’ll need to have a clean driving record, a class 5 license, a criminal records check and a vehicle inspection.
