The City and Manitoba Public Insurance (MPI) are once again helping Winnipeggers get home safely this New Year’s Eve by offering free Winnipeg Transit bus rides after 7:00pm.
The Free Ride program applies to all Winnipeg Transit and Winnipeg Transit Plus service starting December 31 at 7:00pm until end of service. The last buses leave Downtown at approximately 1:30am.
What is the New Years Eve Free Ride Program?
Manitoba Public Insurance (MPI) has sponsored the Free Ride New Year’s Eve service since 2011. As MPI data shows that impaired driving remains one of the leading causes of road fatalities, the public auto insurer is committed to reducing related collisions, deaths and injuries through supporting initiatives that offer safe and dependable options to those ringing in the New Year.
Extended Service on New Years Eve
