Assiniboine Park will have a day filled with music, entertainment, and fun on Monday, July 1, 2024 in recognition of Canada Day!


Activities take place between 11:00am and 5:00pm unless otherwise indicated:

  • Concerts at the Lyric Theatre and the Performance Garden at The Leaf (full schedule below)
  • Citizenship ceremony at the Lyric Theatre, beginning at 11:00 am
  • Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS) Workshops at the Tannis M. Richardson Classroom in The Leaf | 11:00 am – 3:00 pm
  • Bouncy castles and activities for kids at the Lyric Field | 11:00 am – 4:00 pm
  • Food trucks at the Lyric Field | 11:00 am – 4:00 pm
  • Food Truck at The Gardens at The Leaf | 11:00 am – 5:00 pm
  • Pavilion Pop-Up Patio | 11:00 am – 5:00 pm
  • Happy Solstice Market by diary sessions in the Gardens at The Leaf | 11:00 am – 5:00 pm
  • Fire teachings with Cree Crowchild at the Indigenous Peoples Garden Fire Node | 11:00 am – 5:00 pm

Where to Park at Assiniboine Park on Canada Day

Parking in Assiniboine Park is limited and can be difficult to find during large events. Please consider carpooling or using alternate transportation options like public transit or active transportation.

A park and ride will be available at the Canadian Mennonite University (CMU) located at 500 Shaftesbury Blvd. A shuttle will transport visitors from CMU, to the Park, and back from 11:00 am – 6:00 pm. The final ride departs at 5:30 pm.

A FREE Winnipeg 150 shuttle bus will travel between The Forks and Assiniboine Park from 11:00 am – 6:00 pm (every 30 minutes). The Park drop-off and pick-up location will be on Portage Avenue near the Assiniboine River footbridge.


Will there be fireworks at Assiniboine Park for Canada Day?

Canada Day celebrations at Assiniboine Park end at 5:00pm. There will not be a Canada Day fireworks display at Assiniboine Park this year.
