Mark your calendars! Krispy Kreme has announced the grand opening date for its first location in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
What is Krispy Kreme?
Krispy Kreme is an American multinational doughnut company founded by Vernon Rudolph, who bought a yeast-raised recipe from a New Orleans chef. The first Krispy Kreme to open outside of the US was in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada in December 2001.
Though they’ve had a Canadian presence for over 20 years, this will mark the first Krispy Kreme location in Winnipeg. They currently have 7 locations in Ontario, 5 in Quebec, and one in British Columbia.
Where will Winnipeg’s first Krispy Kreme location be?
Krispy Kreme will be located at 465 Sterling Lyon Pkwy at the Seasons of Tuxedo, between IKEA and Outlet Collection Winnipeg. The new 4,600 square foot Hot Light Theatre Shop promises to offer an unparalleled Krispy Kreme experience.

Krispy Kreme Grand Opening Celebrations and Prizes
In celebration of its grand opening on Tuesday, June 18, Krispy Kreme Canada has exciting activities planned for guests on opening day.
They will be giving away an array of fun prizes including:
- 12 Golden Tickets, each redeemable for a free dozen of Original Glazed doughnuts every month for a year
- The first person in line will have the honour of turning on the new location’s famous Hot Light and will win a golden ticket

Everyone who visits on opening day will also receive one free Original Glazed doughnut to enjoy and have the chance to take home Krispy Kreme Canada merchandise.

- Tuesday: 7:00am – 10:00pm

- Thursday: 7:00am – 10:00pm
- Friday: 7:00am – 10:00pm
