Manitoba is getting another natural gas rate decrease! The Public Utilities Board (PUB) has approved Centra Gas’s application to decrease the current Primary Gas rate from $0.0918/m3 to $0.0785/m3 starting August 1, 2024.
Residential homes in Manitoba use natural gas for equipment such as furnaces, gas stoves, gas fireplaces, and BBQs.
Gas rates continue to go down in Manitoba. They were as high as $0.2055/m3 in 2022. The average residential customer is expected to save around $30 a year.
Rates will be reviewed again on November 1, 2024. Primary gas is currently a pass-through cost for Centra. The company charges customers what it pays and doesn’t make a profit.
