The holiday magic returns to Assiniboine Park Zoo! Zoo Lights is lighting up the season from November 21, 2025 to January 1, 2026.
Stroll through over 1.75 million twinkling lights set across the Zoo’s paths, all wrapped in festive charm, live music, treats, and cozy gathering spaces.
Zoo Lights Hours:
- Nov 21–30: 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm (weekends; weekdays closed)
- Dec 1–21: 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm (closed certain Mondays/Tuesdays)
- Dec 22–Jan 1: 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm nightly, with a special New Year’s Eve Bash on December 31 (5:00 pm–1:00 am)
Closed Dates: November 24–27; December 1–2, 8–9, 15–16; December 24–25.
Zoo Lights Ticket Prices:
- All ages 3+: $17.50 + GST
- Children 2 and under: Free
Sessions are date and time-specific. You must enter during your ticket window. Exchanges are allowed starting December 1, with a $10 fee.
New & Highlight Features for 2025:
- Light maze scavenger hunt, snowshoeing, light-up croquet, and box hockey games.
- Enchanted Jungle with brand-new glowing animal installations.
- Aurora Lights display moved indoors to the Rotating Exhibit Gallery — a warm-up zone with a three-minute light show.
- More cozy fire pits throughout the grounds.
- Interactive games: LED hula hoops at “Hoops & Swoops”.
- Zoo Lights Express: the glowing train display near Tundra Grill returns.
- Santa in the Marquee Tent from Nov 21–Dec 23, and other winter characters from Dec 26–Jan 1.
Sensory Night: On Wednesday, December 3, the event is adjusted for sensory sensitivity — strobe effects will be turned off, sound reduced, capacity cut by half, and there’s a quiet room with soft lighting and sensory toys.
Zoo Lights New Year’s Celebrations:
- Dec 31 (New Year’s Eve): Open until 1:00 am, with live music, festive drinks, and a countdown light show.
- Jan 1: Open 5:00 pm–10:00 pm with more live music and treats.
