The HUB Opening Night: Winnipeg New Music Festival

January 28, 2017 @ 6:15 pm - January 29, 2017 @ 2:00 am

Remember how awesome it was when we last teamed up with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra?

We loved it so much we are doing it again!

We are excited to announce that for our next event we are presenting the opening night of the Winnipeg New Music Festival!

The main concert of the night is Meredith Monk’s Canadian premiere of Weave for two voices, and the WORLD Premiere of Christos Hatzis’ Syn-Phonia: Migration Patterns.

But the concert isn’t the only big thing going on, we have a full night of art and experiences in store for you.

Friday Knights Clothing & Accessories is teaming up with Panache Management to put on a stellar fashion show. Zephyra Vun, creator of anARCHI design who curated the last “The Winnipeg Design Festival”, is curating an art installation, photography installation, and furniture display. We have DJs from MEMETIC and DJs Lauren Barnett (G-Ma Feelgood), and Kalliane Brémault playing the best tunes.

Later in the night, prepare for an improvised performance and exchange by B-boys and contemporary dancers.

Bit Space Development is also going to be set up with an interactive virtual reality art space. Have you ever painted in thin air before? Now is your chance.

We are happy to say that King + Bannatyne will be at the event selling their delicious gourmet sandwiches.

The whole event will be live streamed by Stream WPG, so even if you can’t make it you can still see some of the performances by our talented artists.

Tickets will be available through eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/the-hub-opening-night-winnipeg-new-music-festival-tickets-29797025706
