In this four hour workshop with Indigenous artist, Clark Morrissett, you will learn the concepts of the Seven Sacred Teachings and Virtues of Indigenous cultures. Our focus will be Woodland Art – its traditions, imagery, style, and artists. We will pay tribute to the work of the trailblazing Indigenous artist Norval Morrisseau and the members of The Professional Native Indian Artists Inc. We will discover the role of animals in Woodland art, and the meaning of symbols in the paintings. Participants will create a acrylic painting in the Woodlands style to take home.
