ennine Krauchi is the artist behind the remarkable beaded and embroidered Octopus Bag on display in the Indigenous Perspectives gallery. Jennine Krauchi will be joined by Métis Elder George Fleury who directly experienced road allowance relocations, and Lawrence Barkwell, Coordinator of Métis Heritage and History Research at the Louis Riel Institute. This presentation will discuss the origins of Métis beadwork, the making of the Octopus Bag and road allowance people.
