Winnipeg’s doing pretty well against this seasons batch of mosquitoes. Thanks to the weather staying cool and pretty dry, the city has been able to keep up the fight even before letting the larvae grow. “Trap counts for adult nuisance mosquitoes have been at zero since monitoring began at the beginning of May.”– CBCnews. A great thing. But there is another threat… cankerworms.

Apparently insect-control can predict that we’re going to see a big flood of cankerworms which are going to wreak some serious havoc on certain trees. Insect-control is preparing a program that will involve insecticides applied on tree leaves once they actually start feeding. This is gonna be sick… literally, sick.
