Homeowners and renters beware… Natural Gas prices are on the rise!
This Friday (August 1st 2008), Natural Gas rates will rise 6.9%. Including this increase the rate of natural gas has risen a whopping 15% over the past year. In dollar figures the latest rate increase translates to about $73 annually for the average customer.
Bob Brennan, the president of Manitoba Hydro does admit that this is a high increase and states that the company has minimal control over it’s prices. Hydro only controls less than 30% of the overall price.
