70’s couch or transit bus Originally uploaded by sanchom

With parking rates permanently going up nearly 40% this winter, I hope that some of you will look for cheaper and more environmentally friendly ways to commute to work.

Winnipeg Transit has had the opportunity to park and ride for many years. Parking lots cost as little as $3 a day and many provide a place for you plug your car in. The lots are located near popular bus routes to help alleviate the commute for many people who just don’t live on convenient bus routes.

They have just opened up a new location in the parking lot of the Manitoba Hydro building at 820 Taylor Ave. A full list of location is available here.
