MoneySense, a Canadian personal finance and lifestyle magazine, released its 4th annual Canada’s Best Places to Live today and Manitoba’s two largest cities were in the top 10.
According to MoneySense magazine, Victoria is the best place to live in Canada. Victoria beat long-time champion Ottawa-Gatineau for top spot in the magazines list. Winnipeg was ranked 8th, and Brandon was 10th.
Winnipeg has been in the top 10 before, but Brandon is making it’s appearance for the first time.
Rankings are based on 24 indicators, ranging from weather and crime levels to home prices and employment prospects. New this year is ranking based on tax rates and ‘buzz factor’ of each city, referring to their cultural, recreational and athletic activities.
