The city has installed a new Red Light Camera/Photo Enforced Intersection/Speed Cam.
It is located at the intersection of Balmoral St. and Sargent Ave. which is a 50-km/h speed zone. This location was chosen due to numerous complaints from the community. It is located right by Sister MacNamara School and motorists are constantly speeding through it endangering crossing students.
This marks a total of 49 red light cameras in Winnipeg and also proves that your voice can be heard. If you live in a busy intersection and constantly see motorists speeding, make sure you let the city know. Calling 311 should get you through to the proper chains.
