The Winnipeg Police Service’s Traffic Unit will still be out on Sunday Night Cruise night and monitoring traffic, but they will be doing it differently this year.
The police has come to the realization that the vast majority of drivers out Sunday night are simply looking to show off their rides, or socialize with others interested in the hobby.
Of the 232 offence notices issued this past weekend, only three were related to equipment. The rest were for speeding, driving without registration, driving without a valid license, or not using seat belts.
