First Day of Summer

Published

It may not look or feel like it, but today is the first day of summer. Our only hope is this is the beginning of some better weather for #city#.

The summer solstice occurs exactly when the Earth’s and the moon’s axial tilt is most inclined towards the sun, at its maximum of 23° 26′.

The word solstice derives from Latin sol (sun) and sistere (to stand still).
