Various leaks from Minnesota (NHL Draft Location tonight) state that True North will officially announce the team name just before the draft. And that name will be… yes… The Jets.
With all the fan/media pressure, True North didn’t really have a choice.
Sources also say that there will be no draft apparel for the draftees tonight and the Jets logo will not resembled the team that departed Winnipeg in 1996.
Earlier today True North announced in a press conference that former Manitoba Moose head coach Claude Noel will lead Winnipeg’s new NHL franchise.
