Starting this winter, the city will be enforcing a few changes to the Residential Parking Ban to ensure more timely and effective clearing of snow and ice.

Residential Parking Bans, when declared, will now be in place around-the-clock instead of just an overnight ban.

Each snow zone will be identified by a letter of the alphabet. Zones will be plowed in 12 hour shifts:

* Day Shift – 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
* Night Shift – 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

To find out what zone you are in, visit http://knowyourzone.winnipeg.ca. Vehicles parked in zones schedule to be plowed will receive a $150 ticket ($75 if paid early).

There has also been changes made to the annual Snow Route Parking Ban which is in effect from December 1 until March 1 on streets designated as Snow Routes. The Annual Snow Route Parking Ban has been extended by one-hour and will be in place nightly between 2:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m., extended from 6:00 a.m.

Vehicles parked in violation of the Annual Snow Route Parking Ban will get a $100 ticket ($50 if paid early).
