Beginning August 1, 2012, Manitoban’s will have to pay a Electronics Recycling Fee ranging from $1 – $23 when purchasing electronic products.
Products include: TVs, all display items, computers, laptops, telephones, alarm clocks and microwaves.
The environmental handling fees will cover the costs of recycling the electronics when they are disposed. [CBC]
