Here’s what’s open and what’s closed this Victoria Day long weekend.

Victoria Day is a federal Canadian statutory holiday celebrated on the last Monday on or before May 24, in honour of both Queen Victoria’s birthday.

Mall Closures:

* Polo Park – Open 11:00AM – 6:00PM on Victoria Day – Monday, May 20
* St. Vital Centre – Open 11:00AM – 6:00PM on Victoria Day – Monday, May 20

All civic offices are closed on Victoria Day, Monday, May 20, 2013.

Recycling/Garbage Collection

Single-family homes
Recycling and garbage will be collected on Victoria Day for those residents with Monday as their weekly cart collection day.
Yard waste will be collected for those residents scheduled for yard waste pickup on Monday, May 20 (yard waste is collected once every two weeks).

Multi-family apartments
Recycling and garbage collection will continue as normally scheduled.

Brady Road Resource Management Facility (Brady Road Landfill)

Saturday, May 18 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Sunday, May 19 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Monday, May 20 5:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Hours of operation for the Fort Rouge Leisure Centre and St. James Civic Centre during the Victoria Day weekend are as follows:

Sunday, May 19 Open – 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Monday, May 20 Closed

St. James Civic Centre

Saturday, May 18 Open – 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Sunday, May 19 Open – 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Monday, May 20 Closed

Swimming Pools

All City of Winnipeg swimming pools will be closed on Monday, May 20, except Pan Am Pool and the Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex.

Pan Am Pool will be open on Monday, May 20, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex will be open from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, May 20.

Regular hours of operation are in effect for all pools on Saturday, May 18 and Sunday, May 19.

Hours of operation for Winnipeg Public Libraries during the Victoria Day weekend are as follows:

Animal Services Agency

Hours of operation for the Animal Services Agency during the Victoria Day weekend are as follows:

Saturday, May 18 Regular hours – 12 noon to 5:00 p.m.
Sunday, May 19 Regular hours – 12 noon to 5:00 p.m.
Monday, May 20 Closed
Tuesday, May 21 Regular hours – 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
