Most school divisions will have their first day of classes on Wednesday, September 4, 2013. City Council recently voted to reduce the speed limit to 30 kilometres per hour in elementary school zones but there has been various delays in implementing the new limits. No one should ever be doing full speed in school zones regardless if there are signs or not.
Most elementary schools begin at 9am, lunch at 12pm, and end at 3:30pm. Motorist a reminded to take extra caution while in school zones during these hours.
