Hull’s Family Bookstore, which specializes in Christian books and music, will be closing its primary Graham Avenue location in early March.
Hull’s is closing after a 95-year run in Winnipeg. It has suffered a similar fate to other independent bookstores around the world. The growing online digital world has made it difficult for small bookstores, movie rental shops, and even small clothing boutiques, to stay afloat. Customer traffic at Hull’s has been cut in half over the last decade.
Hull’s currently operates 3 locations. The one in Steinbach, Manitoba will remain open, but the Thunder Bay, Ontario location will also close in February.
