Tuition fees at the University of Winnipeg will go up 2.4% this fall.
The increase will amount to around $47 per student a year (or a couple weeks worth of Starbucks)
University of Winnipeg’s operating budget is now at approximately $120 million. They will receive a 2.5% increase in provincial funding. The institution also plans on saving $700,000 through administrative restructuring, leaving jobs unfilled longer, and larger class sizes.
The school currently has around 10,000 students. They hope to increase the amount of international undergrad students by up to 10% over the next several years.
Tuition fees in Manitoba remain approximately 36% below the national average. [WINNIPEG SUN]
