Beginning May 1, 2017, if you’re parked in a fire lane, handicap stall, or school zone, you may get a ticket even if you drive away from the parking authority enforcer.
Changes to the municipal bylaw enforcement act will come into effect that grants the parking authority the ability to mail out tickets. They’ll simply snap a picture of a vehicle parked illegally and mail the owner a ticket.
So the next time you’re parked in a fire lane in front of the grocery store, it could lead to a hefty fine in the mail with you even knowing it.
