Tuition fees at the University of Manitoba will be going up next year.
The Board of Governors approved a 6.6% tuition hike, which is the maximum amount it can raise tuition under provincial law. The increase means that the average student will pay $260 extra. International students could see an additional $1013 added on to their tuition.
The University of Winnipeg also approved a 6.6% increase.
However, despite the hike, Manitoba universities continue to have the lowest fees in Western Canada and the third lowest in the country.
