The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has announced that the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan will be postponed due to the COVID-19 threat. It will be postponed for about one year until 2021.
This will be the first time in history that the Olympics has been delayed. They were cancelled in 1916, 1940 and 1944 during the two world wars.
The games were originally scheduled for July 24 – August 9, 2020.
