We’re getting more information on what Krispy Kreme will look like when it launches in Winnipeg later this year. Krispy Kreme is currently designing a brand new Hot Light Theatre Shop prototype that will first launch in its Winnipeg location.

The new Hot Light Theatre Shop is essentially a doughnut shop, production facility, and a drive-thru. It will be similar to the stores you see in Mississauga, Greenfield Park, or Quebec City, but with a more modern and state-of-the-art twist.

The aesthetic of the store is a fun, clean, industrial baking space that allows guests to watch the fresh Original Glazed doughnuts coming down the production line. This will allow customers to eat donuts minutes after they are created!

Krispy Kreme is an American multinational doughnut company founded by Vernon Rudolph, who bought a yeast-raised recipe from a New Orleans chef. The first Krispy Kreme to open outside of the US was in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada in December 2001.

Though they’ve had a Canadian presence for over 20 years, this will mark the first Krispy Kreme location in Winnipeg. They currently have 7 locations in Ontario, 5 in Quebec, and one in British Columbia.
