New benefits are coming for WestJet Rewards members and Telus customers! Both companies have formed a strategic partnership that will provide fast and FREE inflight Wi-Fi delivered through SpaceX’s Starlink.

WestJet will become the largest North American airline, and the first commercial Boeing 737 operator, to offer Starlink’s Wi-Fi. The service’s low-Earth satellite internet was selected for its high-bandwidth and low-latency capabilities, allowing passengers to stream videos and play online games with download speeds surpassing 200 Mbps.

The new platform is set to debut before the end of 2024, with installation on WestJet’s narrow-body fleet by the end of 2025 and wide-body aircraft by the end of 2026. Access will be free for WestJet Rewards members, marking a significant improvement over the typically slow and expensive inflight Wi-Fi services.
