The city will be adding a new splash pad to the St. James-Assiniboia Centennial Pool complex. It will give youngsters in the area a cool option during the many hot summer days.
The new splash pad will be located at 664 Parkdale Street and have 14 above-ground spray features, five ground spray features, picnic tables, benches, pathways and landscaping. The Building Communities Initiative (BCI) is providing $500,000 to the project, cost-shared equally by the city and province.
The splash pad is expected to be ready for the 2013 summer season. Various other renovations will also be done to the St. James-Assiniboia Centennial Pool complex.
